Expose Excellence Youth Program Embarks on Outdoor Adventure at Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge with Four W's

The Expose Excellence Youth Program provided its students with an enriching outdoor experience during a field trip to the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge. This engaging excursion was led by the Four W's Outdoors, known for their dedication to promoting the outdoors and outdoor education.

Students checked in early at the Fort Bend County Justice Center before departing by bus. The program ensured the safety and well-being of the students with the accompaniment of two officers from the District Attorney’s Office.

The day was filled with activities designed to foster an appreciation for nature and build practical life skills. Students were taught how to cast fishing rods and even "catch" plastic fish, providing a fun and safe introduction to angling. They also experienced the thrill of shooting bow and arrows, learning the basics of archery.

The adventure continued with kayaking, allowing students to explore the waterways of the refuge firsthand. Furthermore, the Four W's imparted essential outdoor knowledge, such as how to use the sun as a compass, a valuable skill for navigating in nature.

The involvement of the Four W's Fishing Team underscores EEYP's commitment to providing diverse and educational experiences for its youth. The Four W's organization specializes in promoting the outdoors through activities like saltwater fishing and focuses on diversity, inclusion, conservation, and outdoor careers. Their expertise made the Trinity River Wildlife Refuge field trip a unique opportunity for EEYP students to connect with nature and learn valuable skills under experienced guidance.

By partnering with organizations like Four W's, EEYP continues to offer enriching activities and exposure to new experiences for the youth of Fort Bend County.
